Julie Stein Brockway
Director Program Services
As Co-Director for Center for Family Life in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Julie Stein Brockway oversees youth and community programs at six school-based sites including an advisory partnership with Sunset Park High School; after-school and summer enrichment programs; two Beacon community centers and a youth employment program. Julie has chaired the Sunset Park High School Task Force since its inception in September 2005, partnering with community stakeholders to ensure that the neighborhood’s long-awaited public high school reflects the input and needs of its residents.
Before becoming Co-Director for Center for Family Life, Julie founded CFL’s “Life Lines” Community Arts Project in 1982, which she still oversees. In 2003, “Life Lines” was recognized for outstanding work in the arts with underserved youth, receiving the 2003 Coming Up Taller Award from the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. Julie is a social group worker and she has been a group work instructor and field supervisor for graduate students at Hunter College School of Social Work.
Julie is a graduate of Yale University and she holds an MSW from the Hunter College School of Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
