SCO Family of Services welcomed David Marcus to its Board of Directors on June 21, 2016. Mr. Marcus was most recently Managing Director at SHL Capital (USA), Inc., a family office investment advisor firm.
Mr. Marcus previously served as Chief Investment Officer at the Juilliard School, managing more than $1 billion in total assets. CNBC credits Mr. Marcus with leading the Juilliard School’s endowment out of 2008 financial crisis losses and steering its value back to pre-crisis level by the time of his departure in 2014. Under his leadership, Juilliard earned the Small Endowment of the Year award in Institutional Investor magazine’s 2013 Hedge Fund Awards.
Mr. Marcus also served as Managing Director at Dartmouth College, where he was a senior member of the investment team that managed the school’s $3 billion endowment. He has also held senior positions at private equity firm Ranieri &Co., Inc., Salomon Brothers Inc and Bankers Trust Company. He received his MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Marcus lives in New York City with his wife, Gail, and their two daughters.
