SCO Family of Services Raises Record $89,000 at 38th Annual Madonna Heights Golf Classic

Dix Hills, NY  Friends of SCO Family of Services’ Madonna Heights programs teed up June 7th for the 38th Annual Madonna Heights Golf Classic at the Woodside Club in Muttontown, Long Island, raising a record $89,000 to support the vital work of Madonna Heights to teach, strengthen and empower young and adult women to heal from trauma. Jackie Tyree Kos and Al Kos of Farmingdale received the Madonna Heights Spirit Award for their commitment to the women and children served by SCO Madonna Heights.

Jackie Tyree Kos has been involved with Madonna Heights for over 40 years. A charter member of the Madonna Heights Ladies Auxiliary, Jackie is Past President and has held numerous positions on the Executive Board. She’s been a volunteer at the Residential Treatment Facility since 1987, working with the residents there on a variety of arts and crafts projects.

Al Kos has been a Madonna Heights supporter since 1996 when he married Jackie. He plays Santa at the annual Christmas party, cooks at every picnic BBQ and he helps collect, package and deliver gifts year round for the kids in residence – including the babies and toddlers in Madonna Heights’ Morning Star program.

Madonna Heights, part of the SCO Family of Services network of care, is an empowering environment designed specifically for young and adult women and girls to heal and thrive. Located on 56 acres in Dix Hills, Madonna Heights provides 24-hour care to address the physical, emotional, and social needs unique to women and girls. Madonna Heights helps build confidence, strengthen family bonds and support the transition back home or to a new home in the community.

Madonna Heights’ Long Island campus is comprised of a Residential Program and School for adolescent girls who have suffered trauma, a Substance Abuse Recovery program for women, and a Mental Health Clinic for families. Madonna Heights also provides Homeless Services for teen girls, women and their children throughout Suffolk County.
