Youth Mentorship Annual Benefit
Mar 8, 2019 / SPIN New York, 48 23rd St. NYC
Ensuring a fun-filled year of adventures for students throughout Central Brooklyn, more than 80 supporters turned out to support this year’s SCO Family Dynamics Youth Mentorship Annual Benefit. The Mentors raised $11,300 at SPIN New York, the original ping pong social club. Proceeds support the Mentoring Program’s annual activities for mentees, including monthly outings to recreational and cultural sites in New York City. The fundraiser was organized by Mentors Drew Herzon, Anya Bingler, Hank Teran, and Maxwell Glassman.
The Family Dynamics’ Youth Mentoring Program matches students ages 7-12 with young professionals – all volunteers – who act as role models throughout the year. The monthly outings give the mentees – youth in SCO’s school-based programs in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Bushwick, Brownsville, and East New York, Brooklyn – a chance to establish relationships with mentors while enjoying new experiences.
