About Madonna Heights
Madonna Heights is dedicated to helping vulnerable adolescent girls, women and families build a strong foundation for the future. Our Suffolk County-based services consist of community and campus- based residential programs and a campus school for adolescent girls. An on-campus mental health clinic is available to Nassau or Suffolk County residents. Core services include education and youth services, early childhood services, family support services, shelters and homeless services.

Residential
Madonna Heights Group Residence
The Madonna Heights Group Residence offers an environment that teaches, strengthens and encourages young women to heal from trauma. Located on a campus setting, it provides 24-hour care in order to address the physical, emotional, and social needs of each girl and her family. The residence includes a wide range of therapeutic services with medical, mental health and substance abuse supports. The girls attend The Madonna Heights School, located on the campus. Brochure

Madonna Heights Residential Treatment Facility
The Madonna Heights Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) is a therapeutic program that provides the most intensive residential mental health services available outside of a hospital. The RTF Program helps youth increase connections with family, while improving outcomes through a youth informed, family-driven and trauma-sensitive approach to treatment. The 24-hour facility offers a wide range of therapeutic services as well as medical, mental health and substance abuse supports. The youth in residence attend the Madonna Heights School.

Madonna Heights School
This New York State Regents junior/senior high school provides a therapeutic educational environment for adolescent girls who are struggling in their community school or live on the Madonna Heights campus at our Group Residence or Residential Treatment Facility. Behavioral Health
Madonna Heights Family Service Clinic
The Madonna Heights Family Service Clinic is an outpatient mental health clinic, supporting families as they overcome obstacles and strengthen existing bonds. We offer individual, group, marital, family and play therapies to all members of families living in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Bridges to Health
Bridges to Health is a program that serves children and young adults with special needs (seriously emotionally disturbed, developmentally disabled, and medically fragile). Youth must be admitted while in foster care but can maintain services upon discharge until the age of 21. An array of services is provided to both the children and their families in order to keep them in the home and connected to the community. Brochure

Substance Abuse Recovery
Morning Star I
Morning Star I, located in Suffolk County, provides single women in recovery with a safe, supportive, home-like structure focused on helping them to develop a drug and alcohol-free, self-supporting lifestyle. The program offers an environment that teaches, strengthens and encourages women in the recovery process.

Morning Star II
Also in Suffolk County, Morning Star II is a residence with a safe, supportive, home-like structure where mothers recovering from alcohol or substance abuse live with their pre-school age children. The program reunites these women with their children and teaches them good parenting practices as they progress towards a full recovery.

Homeless Services
Long Island Adult and Family Shelters
Madonna Heights provides emergency housing for homeless women and adolescents, some with children. The primary goal of the Madonna Heights’ shelters is to help these women and their families stabilize their lives by providing them with temporary emergency housing and support services in a safe, supervised environment. Locations are scattered throughout Suffolk County, Long Island.
Gatehouse
Our Gatehouse Residence provides shelter for an especially vulnerable group – homeless young women between the ages of 16-21. We provide temporary housing as we help these young women return home or transition to a longer-term residential setting.
Community Services
New Heights
Located on SCO’s Madonna Heights campus in Dix Hills, Long Island, New Heights offers customized workshops that focus on team-building, wellness, conflict resolution and more. There are a range of programs to choose from: staff workshops, adventure programs, health and wellness retreats, field days and family fun days. Each is designed to address the specific goals of the participants. New Heights training opportunities can span a single day or multiple days and are available to SCO staff and clients as well as outside organizations.

From the West
Take the Long Island Expressway to Exit 50 (Bagatelle Road). Stay on service road, pass the school on right. Turn right on Burrs Lane just past the school. Go ½-1 mile on Burrs Lane. The Madonna Heights entrance is on the right.
From the East
Take the Long Island Expressway to Exit 50 (Bagatelle Road). Turn left onto Bagatelle Road, cross the overpass and turn left onto the sough service road. Pass the school on right. Turn right on Burrs Lane just past the school. Go ½-1 mile on Burrs Lane. The Madonna Heights entrance is on the right.
