SCO Student Wins Garden of Dreams Inspire Scholarship

SCO Family of Services is proud to announce that Rachel Brown, a longtime participant in our After School program at the Beacon at MS35, is a recipient of a 2026 Garden of Dreams Inspire Scholarship!

Each year, Garden of Dreams awards educational scholarships of $15,000 per year, renewable for up to four years ($60,000 total), to 20 deserving students in their partner organizations.

Rachel has been a Beacon participant since she was 5 years old (kindergarten) and has been consistently engaged in programming Monday through Saturday, including After School, Summer Camp, Radio City Talent Shows, and various events. She has also been an active member of the Beacon’s basketball program, participated in internship and summer youth employment opportunities, and is a Girl Scout Ambassador.

Rachel currently attends Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School and will be graduating with honors this June. She will be attending Coppin State University in the fall, where she plans to major in Early Childhood Education.

Rachel is an incredibly hardworking, dedicated, and committed young person who is truly loved by both staff and her peers.
