(Garden City, NY) – Today, SCO Family of Services, a leading provider of essential human services in New York, announced the promotion of Rasheed Frazier to Chief Program Officer, continuing SCO’s commitment to developing strong leaders within the agency.

After a comprehensive search, Mr. Frazier was selected to provide oversight of an extensive portfolio of programs including SCO’s Residential and Youth Justice Services, Housing Services, and Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.

“We are so fortunate to have someone of Rasheed’s caliber and expertise already within SCO who will hit the ground running,” said Suzette Gordon, SCO President and CEO. “Rasheed is known for his hands-on management style and his compassion for those we serve. I am thrilled to be able to elevate him to this new role.”

A proactive, solution-oriented innovator, Frazier has been on an upward trajectory at SCO since joining the organization in 2012 as a Case Planner and rising through the ranks with roles of increased responsibility. Most recently, Frazier served as SCO’s Vice President of Residential and Youth Justice Services, where he oversaw a portfolio of programs that serve adolescents, young adults, and their families. In addition to providing executive leadership to his programs, Frazier assists in leading agency-wide initiatives, including program integration, model implementation, and DEIB initiatives.

Frazier’s promotion follows the recent promotion of another SCO standout, Karen Abreu-Rosano, which completes Ms. Gordon’s vision of appointing two dynamic Chief Program Officers to support the breadth and scope of SCO’s programming.

Earlier this fiscal year, Ms. Abreu-Rosano was elevated to Chief Program Officer after having served as SCO’s Vice President of Family Permanency and Support Services. Abreu-Rosano provides oversight for SCO’s Community Health and Wellness Services, Education and Community Services, Family Permanency and Support Services, and the development and management of the 29-I Health Facility.

“When I promoted Karen to Chief Program Officer, I was looking for a highly qualified, collaborative, and forward-thinking leader to help advance our mission,” said Ms. Gordon. “Seeing her embrace this opportunity and the incredible results she has achieved is a testament to her commitment to SCO and the children and families we serve.”

Abreu-Rosano joined the organization in 1999 as a foster care and adoption Case Worker, working her way up through various management positions with poise, commitment, and compassion. She is a thoughtful, involved leader whose considerable organizational, team-building, and problem-solving skills have greatly benefitted SCO Family of Services for over two decades.
