Remembering Sister Mary James Clines

SCO Family of Services and the Madonna Height community mourn the passing of Sister Mary James Clines, former Executive Director of Madonna Heights. Sr. Mary James was a Sister of Good Shepherd for 70 years. A life-long advocate for women and children, she worked as a Social Worker at Madonna Heights from 1965-1970, then transitioned to the role of Executive Director, where she remained for 24 years.

Sr. Mary James was a woman of compassion and kindness, loved by the girls at Madonna Heights. She never lost ties to the Madonna Heights community, remaining in contact long after she left. We are grateful for her unwavering support for the women and girls at Madonna Heights, and honored to continue her legacy of compassion and care for those we serve.
