SCO Family of Services Holds Stakeholder Forum Highlighting Impact in Brooklyn

Celebrates 130 years of strengthening New York’s families; Unveils 5-Year Strategic Plan

Brooklyn NY, October 22, 2025 – SCO Family of Services, a leading provider of essential human services in NYC and Long Island, held a Stakeholder Forum: Community, Commitment, Change at its Morris Koppelman Early Childhood Education Center in Brooklyn to celebrate 130 years of strengthening New York’s families.

The event brought together government officials, supporters, and friends of SCO as the agency shared its rich history, significant impact, and bold vision for the future, highlighted by the introduction of a dynamic 5-year Strategic Plan.

“Today we reaffirm the importance of our partnerships as we continue our mission of helping New Yorkers build a strong foundation for the future,” remarked Suzette Gordon, President & CEO of SCO Family of Services. “Our vision is a New York where every individual can thrive. Working together, we will continue to foster healthier and more resilient communities ensuring that SCO’s legacy of service endures for many generations to come.”

The Stakeholder Forum highlighted SCO’s programs in Brooklyn, providing an opportunity to take a deeper look into the work SCO does to support the community every day. It emphasized the importance of collaboration to make the most profound impact on the lives of New Yorkers.
That impact was brought home by client speaker, Don-Tay Jerimiah, who shared his inspiring journey with SCO.

SCO Family of Services operates eighty-four programs at 120 sites throughout NYC and Long Island, serving 45,000 individuals annually with the support of 3,000 dedicated staff. The services offered include:

o Education & Community Services
o Family Permanency & Support Services
o Community Health & Wellness Services
o Housing Services
o Residential & Youth Justice Services
o Services for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
