
SCO Family of Services’ Inspiration Ball Lights the Path to Brighter Tomorrows for New Yorkers in Need

Garden City, NY, May 6, 2025 – SCO Family of Services, a leading provider of essential human services for 130 years, held its annual Inspiration Ball – “Lighting the Path to Brighter Tomorrows” at the Garden City Hotel on May 1st. Funds raised at the event will help SCO provide vital services for more than 45,000 children, teens, families, and adults each year across New York City and Long Island.
The evening highlighted the impact of SCO’s work in the community made possible by philanthropic support, and recognized individuals and businesses for their outstanding commitment to advancing the agency’s mission.
“We are so grateful to have the continued support of this evening’s honorees, Stephen Rich and Stacey-Anny Easy,” remarked Suzette Gordon, President and CEO of SCO Family of Services. “Their dedication, as well as the compassion and generosity of all our attendees and sponsors, helps us build a strong foundation for the children, individuals, and families in our care.”
SCO honored Stephen Rich, Chairman, CEO and President of Mutual of America Financial Group, with the Corporate Leadership Award. Under Mr. Rich’s leadership, Mutual of America continues to be a steadfast advocate for social impact, ensuring organizations like SCO have the resources to empower children, families, and individuals in need.
“Like SCO, our roots run deep in New York City, as do our shared values and vision to promote the welfare of others, empowering them to succeed and helping to strengthen communities,” said Mr. Rich. “We’re proud of our long-standing partnership with SCO as their retirement plan provider, dedicated to helping their employees save for a financially secure future. SCO presented the Humanitarian Award to Stacey-Ann Easy, Executive Director of Garden of Dreams Foundation. Through her work, Ms. Easy has transformed countless lives, providing hope, opportunity, and life-changing experiences for young people facing adversity.
The evening’s guest speaker, Jesse, a participant in SCO programs for adults with developmental disabilities, shared his transformative journey towards greater independence.
Vanessa Baird-Streeter, President and CEO of Health & Welfare Council of Long Island, was the host for the evening. Honorees received Special Citations from Senator Monica Martinez, Assemblyman Chuck Lavine, Assemblywoman Judy Griffin, and The Nassau County Legislature. Live music, dancing, and an online auction rounded out the exceptional evening.
