SCO Staff and Youth Honored at 12th Annual LGBTQAI+ Ally Awards

NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) honored individuals who have done exceptional work on behalf of LGBTQAI+ youth in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
2024 LGBTQAI+ Ally Awards Honorees included two staff and one youth from SCO Family of Services:
Above and Beyond Award – Provider Agency
• Gisele Doucet, Forward Journey Coach
• Sahajja Harris, Forward Journey Coach Supervisor
Outstanding Foster Care Youth
• Pinna Lack
Gisele and Sahajja demonstrate unwavering commitment, passion, and empathy for the LGBTQAI+ youth of SCO. They have an amazing ability to make young people feel safe and seen.
Pinna tirelessly advocates for their fellow LGBTQ+ community members, reaching people with compassion and empathy as they have grown and matured during their time in care.
