SCO Family Services is proud to be part of an important global conversation during the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) at the United Nations, “The Role of Women Toward a Global Peace Charter Based on Non-Violence.”
Dr. Mecca Nelson, Global Peace Ambassador, served as a moderator for this high-level dialogue bringing together powerful voices, global leaders, and advocates committed to advancing peace, justice, and the empowerment of women worldwide.
Dr. Nelson also serves as a facilitator within our young adult cohorts, leading two-hour mindfulness-based sessions that integrate movement, reflection, and personal development creating safe spaces for growth, healing, and empowerment.
Through her leadership, Dr. Nelson opened the door for SCO Family Services’ young adults and staff to attend this impactful event at the United Nations, providing a powerful, real-life experience of global leadership in action.
Because of this opportunity, our young adults were able to witness firsthand that:
- No matter what your background, all things are possible
- Your voice has power even on a global stage
- Exposure creates transformation
At SCO Family Services, we remain committed to creating experiences that inspire, uplift, and empower the communities we serve.
Together, we uplift women’s leadership and advance a culture of global peace.
