SCO’s Women Entrepreneurs Fall Pop-Up Shop in Brownsville

November 20, 2019 / SCO News

SCO's Women EntrepreneursLast week, ten Women Entrepreneurs exhibited at the Fall Pop-Up Shop at The Gregory Jackson Center in Brooklyn. The Pop-Up Shop showed off the talents and wares of local exhibitors including a local street vendor, an SCO employee in Brownsville, a caretaker at a preschool, community members from the United for Brownsville Provider Action Team, and others. Products ranged from hand-made jewelry and pillows to naturally-made body and hair products. For some women, it was their first time selling their products in a market setting and for others, it was an opportunity to meet new faces.

To help promote and market the Women’s Entrepreneurs’ work, shoppers were encouraged to follow the vendors’ social media pages and had the opportunity to win prizes donated by the Women Entrepreneurs. Children also had a good time playing Connect 4, Nok-Hockey, and jump rope.

The event also informed community members of services provided by SCO Family of Services in Brownsville. The next Women Entrepreneurs Fall Pop-Up Shop will take place on Saturday, December 21st from 1 PM – 4 PM at The Gregory Jackson Center.
