The Gift of The Holidays in Sea Cliff

December 11, 2019 / SCO News

Gift of Giving during the Holidays For more than three decades in Sea Cliff, The Catapano family and a steady group of friends, colleagues, and neighbors have been coming together every holiday season to pack and load duffel bags filled with presents and life essentials for teens and young adults in SCO Family of Services Independence Inn transitional living programs. The Inns, located in Brooklyn and Queens, provide shelter and support for young people who have run away or are experiencing homelessness.

Phil started the incredible campaign with his late wife, Kathy, and now recruits friends and neighbors to join in and keep the spirit of giving alive and blossoming throughout the holidays in the New York City region.

“This was important to Kathy and she would want us to keep it going,” said Phil. In a visit to one of the Inns, many residents told Phil that the duffel bags that they received from the gracious cause were, in fact, the first Christmas presents that they’s ever gotten.
