Fathers’ Program Outing Strengthens Family Bonds

Dads in SCO’s Fathers’ Program spent a day shopping, dining and bonding with their children thanks to a generous donation from Good+Foundation, a longtime partner of SCO.

SCO’s Fathers’ Program helps fathers reconnect with their children and develop essential parenting skills through classes, workshops, support groups, and a multitude of resources – plus special events for the whole family.

Good+Foundation is a non-profit agency that pairs tangible goods with innovative services for under-resourced parents and caretakers. They’ve supplied SCO programs with diapers, wipes, clothes and other essential items for children.

Good+Foundation recently provided the SCO Fathers’ Program with $50 gift cards to The Children’s Place to distribute to dads who would greatly benefit. The donation was turned into a family event, with dads in the Fathers’ Program coming together as a group to take their children clothes shopping, followed by dinner with their families.

The event gave the fathers an opportunity to spend a fun afternoon with their children, meet with other dads and their children, and reconnect with program staff. A wonderful time was had by all!
