(Garden City, NY, March 17, 2025) SCO Family of Services, a leading provider of essential human services for 130 years, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tiffany Johnson to its Board of Directors.
Tiffany will act as the SCO Board’s parent representative. She brings a unique voice and a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board as both an SCO foster parent and as a parent and foster parent of two young girls enrolled in the Early Head Start program through SCO’s FirstStepNYC Early Childhood Education Center.
“On behalf of the entire Board, I am delighted to welcome Tiffany to the SCO Board of Directors,” remarked Lee Vance, SCO Board Chair. “Tiffany’s perspective as a recipient of SCO’s services will provide a voice to those in our care that will help SCO continue as a leader in the delivery of critical human services.”
“We are honored to have Tiffany join our dedicated Board of Directors. Her insight as a foster parent and recipient of our early childhood services will prove invaluable as we continue to advance our mission of helping New Yorkers build a stronger foundation for the future,” added Suzette Gordon, SCO President & CEO.
Tiffany Johnson became a foster parent with her husband in 2017, when they cared for young siblings. Since then, they have fostered several children on a long-term basis. After the birth of their daughter, they began fostering a little girl the same age, and the two girls (now age 2), have developed a wonderful relationship – learning, playing and growing up together.
Tiffany is an engaged parent at FirstStepNYC. She is a member of FirstStep’s Policy Council, she attends the monthly Parent Committee meetings, and she is actively involved in family events and activities the center provides.
Tiffany is a Home Health Aide and is also working towards an associate degree at the University of Arkansas Grantham. She wants to pursue a career as a registered nurse so she can apply her passion for helping children.
