For more than 130 years, SCO has delivered programs and services to New York’s most under-resourced communities, offering long-term, life-changing results. Through our vast network of programs, we offer a continuum of care and services that gets young children off to a good start, launches youth into adulthood, stabilizes and strengthens families, and unlocks potential for children and adults with special needs.

    Community Habilitation

    The Community Habilitation program teaches children and adults who are living at home daily living skills and gives them the opportunity to participate in activities that foster independence and will allow them to live in the community successfully.

    Day Habilitation Programs

    Our Day Hab program offers adults with developmental disabilities a place where they can socialize, participate in community activities, and develop skills and interests. One-to-one activities are available for those who cannot function in a group setting.

    Drop-In Lounge

    The Drop-In Lounge is an exciting social opportunity for members to meet new friends and explore art, music, games, and more. The Drop-In Lounge is ideal for adults who can participate with minimal supervision. Members can partake in organized activities, or if they prefer, just relax and socialize.

    In-Home Respite

    In-home respite worker provides relief to the families caring for someone with a developmental disability.

    Residential Living for Youth in Foster Care

    Group residences that provide a supportive home environment for youth in foster care who have multiple challenges including mental illness, substance abuse, alcoholism or delinquency. We also offer residential programs for young people who identify as LGBTQ as well as programs for youth with developmental disability and behavioral health conditions.
