NYPD Community Affairs Bureau Hosts Teen Dating Forum

February 26, 2021 / SCO News

The Brooklyn Youth Center welcomed the NYPD Community Affairs Bureau for a Teen Dating Violence Forum. Youth and NYPD Officers spoke about the different types of abuse and the youth had the opportunity to ask questions and give scenarios on what they would consider being abuse or not abuse. The Youth were provided with resources and information on domestic violence. The forum included discussions where the youth were able to express their concerns regarding police officers in their communities who may not look like them or understand them because they are not from their community.

Dinner was provided and each youth received a gift bag with a tablet, portable chargers, hygiene supplies, and an NYPD book bag. Thanks to Project Coordinator Tranea Edwards for coordinating this forum with the NYPD and our youth.
